When carrying out building work at an operational day care centre there is a lot of additional red tape to take into consideration. Thankfully Riki was up to the task having completed large projects at several schools during his time in Nelson.
This project saw the full renovation of the old managers house being converted into the under 2-year-olds new home. As well as the interiors complete makeover we also took care of all exterior works such as the access ramp, verandas and roofing; and also took care of the civil works roading requirements.
Due to engineering plans being unfit for purpose Riki successfully redesigned, drew up and submitted plans through council to see the carpark, road crossing and roadside carpark bay through to completion without a massive budget blow out for our clients.
We are thrilled to have been a part of and see a very happy ending to a long journey for Rainbow Cottages owners Katrina and Simon. Their vision has created a beautiful and nurturing space for the young ones of Whangamata.

From a comprehensive health and safety site plan to considering how things would work in reality, Riki was an absolute blessing.
This project took some time to get to the build stage. I’ve looked back and said that was for a reason, as we were one of the first big jobs Riki did on his return to Whangamata. I feel so fortunate that we found him. His experience in working on big school projects helped no end. I’m not sure any other builder could have executed the brief like Riki did.
We are so thankful we had Riki to make our dream a reality. I highly recommend him to anyone, for a job big or small. The work was completed to a very high standard.
